חבורת תרי״ג: פרשת כי תשא
Chaburat Taryag | חבורת תרי״ג · 6:59 · Parsha stories
Three lessons from Parshas Ki Sisa with Saba Kadisha: every Jew gives the same half shekel because everyone counts the same, Moshe davens for forty days for all of Bnei Yisrael, and after teshuvah they get new Luchos, a fresh start. Then the chaburah makes room for little Dubi in the game, says Tehillim for Gadi's sick brother, and Tanchum and Gadi rebuild their sand castle together.
שלושה דברים מפרשת כי תשא: כל אחד חשוב, מתפללים בשביל חבר, ומבקשים סליחה ומתחילים מחדש.

Hello, dear children! It's Saba Kadisha. Oy, oy, oy! Last week we saw the clothes of the kohanim, and this week we'll discover what you can do with a small coin. Sunday after school, the four friends came like every week to Saba Kadisha's room. This week we have a big, special parsha, and it has three things every kid needs to know. Three? Star-counter ready. A star for each one. Easy! Number one: Hashem told Moshe: Each of Bnei Yisrael will give a machatzis hashekel, half of a small silver coin. And that's how they counted everyone. Each coin was one person. The rich didn't give more, and the poor didn't give less. Everyone gave exactly the same coin, because before Hashem, everyone is equally important. And Hashem also commanded to make a copper washbasin, and before the avodah in the Mishkan, the kohanim washed their hands and feet in it, to serve in holiness and purity. Children, like the machatzis hashekel: big or small, rich or poor, everyone is exactly as important. You too! So everyone is important. One star! Number two: Moshe went up Har Sinai for 40 days and 40 nights, and at the end he received from Hashem two tablets of stone, the Luchos HaBris. But down below, Bnei Yisrael waited and waited and were very worried, and some of them made a big mistake called the Cheit HaEgel. And Moshe stood alone and davened for Bnei Yisrael with all his heart: Forgive them! For 40 days he davened and didn't give up, until Hashem forgave them. Children, Moshe didn't think only about himself. He davened for everyone. We can daven for a friend too. So we daven for a friend. Two stars! And number three: the first Luchos were broken. But Bnei Yisrael were very sorry and did teshuvah. They asked forgiveness, really, with all their heart, and promised to do better. And Hashem told Moshe: Carve two tablets like the first ones. And Moshe went up the mountain again and received new Luchos. A new beginning! And when Moshe came down, his face shone with a great light after 40 days on the mountain. Karan ohr panav. And Moshe put a veil over his face when he spoke with them. Children, anyone can make a mistake, but we can really ask forgiveness and start again, like the second Luchos. So we say sorry and start again. Three stars! The counter is full! And just then, Yisrael came in, and with him Dubi, his little brother. And Dubi said sadly: Saba, the big kids didn't let me play. They said I'm too small. So here's this week's mission: One: every kid is just as important as everyone. Two: daven for a friend. And three: ask forgiveness and start again. My gadget says: everyone counts. Dubi, tomorrow you're playing with us, and I'll save you a spot on the team. The next day after school, the friends took Dubi to play ball in the yard. And everyone got a turn, big and small, and nobody was left on the side. Everyone is important, even the little ones. My gadget says: the team is complete! And in the yard, Dubi played together with them, and he even scored a goal, and everyone ran to hug him. And the first star lit up. On Tuesday, Gadi sat outside, sad. His little brother is sick and has a high fever, and Gadi was very worried about him. My little brother is sick. What can I do? Gadi, come, let's daven for him together. And the friends said a chapter of Tehillim together for Gadi's brother. And the next day, he already felt much better. And the second star lit up. On Thursday in the yard, Tanchum and Gadi built a big sand castle. But they argued, and Tanchum got angry and knocked the castle down. Gadi, sorry. Let's build it again, together. And Gadi smiled, and together they built a new castle, even more beautiful, like the second Luchos. And the third star lit up. My gadget says: a new and beautiful castle! And at the end, the friends and Saba Kadisha sang a happy niggun together. Friends, this week everyone was important, we davened for a friend, and we asked forgiveness and started again. Three stars! The mission is complete! On Shabbos night, at the table, the friends said: Shabbos is a sign between Hashem and Bnei Yisrael. Dear children, this week each one of you was important, you davened for a friend, and you learned to start again. And next week we reach Parshas Vayakhel. And what will happen in the camp? We'll see next week! And now, thank you for watching with us, and Shabbat shalom! And next week, everyone gathers together and works with great joy. And what are they making? We'll find out next week!
