Three lessons from Parshas Tzav with Saba Kadisha: the fire on the mizbe'ach that never goes out, the kohen who starts his day with the simple job of clearing the ashes, and the korban todah for saying thank you. Then Gadi learns to water his new plant a little every day, cleans the floor with a smile, and the chaburah remembers to thank the bus driver.
שלושה דברים מפרשת צו: עושים טוב כל יום, אין עבודה קטנה מדי, ואומרים תודה.

Hello, dear children! It's Saba Kadisha. Oy, oy, oy, oy! Last week we learned about the korbanos. And this week, Hashem commands Aharon and his sons how to do the avodah in the Mishkan. Sunday after school, the four friends came like every week to Saba Kadisha's room. This week we have a big, special parsha, and it has three things every kid needs to know. Three? Star-counter ready. A star for each one. Easy! Number one: Moshe dressed Aharon and his sons in the special clothes of the kohanim. And for seven days they stayed at the entrance of the Ohel Moed and learned the avodah. And Hashem commanded: A constant fire shall burn on the mizbe'ach. It shall not go out. The fire on the mizbe'ach never went out, not by day and not by night. Every single morning, the kohen added wood to the mizbe'ach, even when it was cold, and even when he was tired. Every day, again. Children, in your heart too there's a little fire of love for Hashem. And how does it not go out? We do something good every day. Even a little, but every day. So, we do good every day. One star! Number two: every morning, before all the avodah, the kohen lifted a little ash from the mizbe'ach. This is called terumas hadeshen, and it was the first avodah of the day. It's a simple job with ashes, but the kohanim wanted to do it so much that they needed a lottery to decide who would do it. And afterwards, the kohen changed into simpler clothes and took the ashes outside the camp, to a clean place. Children, no job is too small. Even clearing the table at home is a big and important mitzvah. So, every job is important. Two stars! And number three: someone Hashem protected, for example, someone who came back safely from a long trip in the desert, brought a korban todah, and together with it they brought forty loaves and cakes. And the owner of the korban invited lots of friends to eat with him, and told everyone about the kindness Hashem did for him. Because when Hashem does us a favor, we say thank you. And today too, someone who comes back safely from a long trip says Birkas HaGomel. Children, you too, say thank you to Hashem in davening, in Modim, and also to everyone who does you a favor. So, we say thank you. Three stars! The counter is full! And just then, Gadi came into Saba Kadisha's room. In his hands was a small pot with a green seedling. He got it in class and was very happy. So here's this week's mission: One: do something good every day. Two: do a small job too, happily. And three: say thank you. My gadget says: a little every day is a lot. Wow, Gadi, what a beautiful seedling! I'll water it today, lots of water, and then it won't need any more. But after a few days, the seedling looked sad and dry. And Gadi remembered the fire on the mizbe'ach, that the kohen added wood to every morning. Gadi, a seedling also needs a little every day. My gadget says: a little fire every day makes a big light. And from that day, Gadi watered the seedling a little every morning, and the seedling started to grow, green and beautiful. And the first star lit up. Later, Saba Kadisha asked for help tidying the room before a big shiur. Yisrael arranged the books, Rubi arranged the chairs, and only washing the floor was left for Gadi. Just cleaning the floor? That's too small a job. The kohen also started with the ashes. And Gadi washed every corner happily until the room sparkled, and Saba Kadisha smiled at him with love. And the second star lit up. In the evening, the friends came home from a long trip in a small bus, and when they arrived, everyone hurried to get off and go home. Wait, we didn't say thank you to the driver yet! The friends went back and said to the driver: Thank you very much! And the driver gave a big smile. And at home, they also said thank you to Hashem that they came back safely. And the third star lit up. My gadget says: thank you is a small word with big power. And at the end, the friends and Saba Kadisha sang a happy niggun together. Friends, this week we did good every day, we did a small job too, and we said thank you. Three stars! The mission is complete! On Shabbos night, at the table, the friends told about the fire that didn't go out and about the kohen who started his day with the ashes. Dear children, this week we learned to do good every day, to do every job happily, and to say thank you. Hashem loves you. And next week, a very special day is coming. What will we discover? We'll see next week! And now, thank you for watching with us, and Shabbat shalom! And next week, the seven days of the Miluim come to an end. And what will happen on the eighth day? We'll find out next week!
